Mónika Bodó photographed these odd radius halos on a flight from Amsterdam to Budapest on 20 June. The display lasted about 7-8 minutes and was observed during the descent to Budapest. Further photos are available in Mónika's album ( 1 ).
As far as I know, it was photographed from a passenger window, but you're right, Marko, Monika is an air hostess. The Mediterranean cyclone of mid-June created favourable conditions for OR halos. They appear quite rarely over Hungary, but 3 days later, on 23 June, we had another (though much fainter) display.
Yes, it seems you are right about the 22 degree ring, Walt.

This seems to have been a display of very high quality. I wonder if it was visually even more impressive than in this photograph.
